On June 24, 2016, Minister Zeng Bijing from the Standard Information Research Service Center of our hospital and his delegation went to Peking University Hospital to discuss solutions with leaders and experts from the Municipal Health and Family Planning Commission, Peking University, Luohu Hospital Group, Municipal People’s Hospital, and Peking University Hospital on how to standardize the cellular immunotherapy industry, and reached a preliminary cooperation intention.
This meeting was chaired by Dr. Liu Tao from Shenzhen Luohu Hospital Group. At the meeting, Dr. Liu introduced in detail the current status of the cellular immunotherapy industry in Shenzhen from three aspects: upstream, midstream and downstream. He analyzed the deep-seated reasons for the chaotic market order in the industry and the abnormal phenomenon of bad money driving out good money. He also expressed the necessity and urgency of strengthening industry supervision, standardizing industry behavior, and ensuring the healthy and sustainable development of the industry through standardized means, which was highly recognized by the participants.
The experts participating in the meeting actively raised ideas and questions from their respective professional perspectives around “how to build a standardized path for the cellular immunotherapy industry.” Minister Zeng Bijing of the Standard Information Research Service Center of our institute proposed a strategic development idea of starting from the product quality control of the industry, and gradually building a standardization system for the cell therapy industry in accordance with the industrial chain, and gradually standardizing each key link of the industry. This proposal was unanimously recognized by the experts attending the meeting.
This meeting is the first extensive contact and exchange between our hospital and relevant units in the cellular immunotherapy industry chain. It is also the first step towards “standardization and standardized development” of our city’s cellular immunotherapy industry. Our hospital will make full use of its own technological advantages, deeply participate in the development of the cellular immunotherapy industry, and provide strong standardized technical support in promoting industry standardization and large-scale development.
