Shenzhen Special Economic Zone News (Reporter He Yong Correspondent Bao Li) Reporters recently learned from the 2018 World Standards Day symposium organized by the Shenzhen Municipal Market and Quality Supervision Commission that the city has participated in the development of 5,413 international and domestic standards in recent years, and its right to speak on international and domestic standards has been significantly strengthened.

October 14th every year is World Standards Day. This year, the three major international standardization organizations ISO, IEC, and ITU jointly determined the theme of World Standards Day as “International Standards and the Fourth Industrial Revolution.” At the symposium, representatives from companies such as Saixi Information, International Shipping Containers, Jiyang Zhiyun, DJI Innovations, Han’s Laser, BYD, BGI, and ECCOM Ark shared their experience in standardization work. It is reported that the city’s “standards +” strategy is gradually being implemented. The “Guiding Opinions on Promoting the Implementation of the “Standards+” Strategy” was issued, a “Standards+” strategic list was compiled, and a “Standards+” working system was initially formed to promote the accelerated integration and development of standards and all aspects of the economy and society.

It is understood that the city has participated in the development of 5,413 international and domestic standards in recent years. More than 60 international and domestic standards organizations have settled in Shenzhen, and more than 200 Shenzhen experts hold important positions in international and domestic standardization organizations.

At the same time, the influence of local standards has further increased, and various departments have actively participated in the development and implementation of local standards. The city has issued nearly 500 local standards. A number of important local standards have played an important role in improving urban construction and management levels, protecting the environment, standardizing market competition order, and promoting the development of emerging industries.

The market has developed rapidly in independently formulating standards. Various standards alliances and social groups have released nearly 400 group and alliance standards, and the city’s enterprises have self-declared 19,000 public standards on the national platform. The number and quality of standards independently formulated by the market are among the best in the country.

New progress has been made in the standardization pilot demonstration work. In 2018, it took the lead in completing national standardization pilot demonstration tasks such as government service enterprises, park management and services, and urban mineral resource recycling economy, forming a batch of standard work results that can be replicated and promoted.

Kuang Bing, director of the Shenzhen Market and Quality Supervision Commission, clarified the ideas for Shenzhen standard reform and innovation in the next stage at the meeting: We will vigorously carry out the “Standard Construction Year” activities to promote reform breakthroughs in the standardization system, mechanisms and carriers, establish the “Shenzhen Standards Promotion Association”, give full play to the role of group standards, and strengthen standard construction in key areas such as food. At the same time, we will accelerate the construction of a national technical standards innovation base and an international standardization talent training base, build a public standard technical service platform for enterprises, and strive to provide high-level standard technical support services for enterprise development in terms of policy support, technical services, and talent and intellectual support.
