On February 2, 2024, the launch ceremony of the CDMO laboratory project of Harbin Beike Cell Industry Base was held in Harbin New District. Zhang Yazhong, vice chairman and secretary-general of the Heilongjiang Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Lu Yuchun, deputy director of the Provincial Development and Reform Commission, Yi Zongyin, deputy director of the Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, Li Shumin, member of the party group and deputy director of the Provincial Health Commission, Wang Xilin, a second-level inspector of the Provincial Department of Science and Technology, Chen Fangye, a member of the Harbin New Area Management Committee and deputy district chief of the district government, Yu Binqiao, deputy general manager of Shenzhen (Harbin) Industrial Park Investment and Development Co., Ltd., and Hu Junyuan, chairman of Beike Biotech Group, attended the ceremony.
It is reported that the cell preparation digital intelligent production line research and development platform developed by the CDMO laboratory of Harbin Beike Cell Industry Base is one of the important measures to implement the “Heilongjiang Province’s “14th Five-Year Plan” Bioeconomic Development Plan” and vigorously develop the bioeconomic “engine industry”.
The Harbin Beike Cell Industry Base CDMO Laboratory is prepared and operated by Harbin Beike Health Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Beike Biotechnology. It will use the Harbin Comprehensive Cell Bank + Regional Cell Preparation Center as the platform, based on the digital intelligent production line of cell preparations, and the big data platform as a link to form a provincial-level regional biological sample storage and CDMO (Contract R&D and Production Organization) advanced demonstration project with Harbin as the center and covering the Northeast urban agglomeration, providing strong technical support for the development of the cell and gene therapy drug industry in the Northeast region.
At the ceremony that day, it was also announced that the preparations for the establishment of the Heilongjiang Digital Life Research Institute would be launched. The core goal of the establishment of the institute is to create an innovative cultivation platform for Heilongjiang Province’s digital life industry and a gathering place for related enterprises, a new R&D institution focusing on the transformation of results and industry incubation, and to become a “new pivot” and “power source” for the progress of biotechnology in Heilongjiang Province.
The pharmaceutical industry has always been the pillar industry and advantageous industry of Harbin New Area, and it is also the strategic leading industry in Heilongjiang Province’s “14th Five-Year Plan”. As one of the subdivisions of the bioeconomy, the cell industry is an important area for industrial improvement in Heilongjiang Province.
